C42E, But Figurative
C42E is a continuation of A7AA, in which a square unit moves around an invisible boundary, embedded in a splittable quad-tree structure. C42E follows almost the exact same rule except assigning different weights to children squares upon every split. Whether the split happens plus its weight pattern are computed based on the pixel data across the four sections. The root square keeps splitting, and gradually reveals a figurative image captured by the webcam. When the children squares reach their maximum recursion level, the process is reversed, leading to all squares merging back to one step by step. The installation is programmed using Processing. 针对中国用户,若Vimeo 视频无法显示,可以观看下方MANA版本。 |
