Glyphshift
Glyphshift is an interactive / generative artwork. It started as a feasibility study on a sequence of line segments self-adapt to different shapes through folding and stretching back in 2020. Its fundamental algorithm focuses on finding the optimal breaking joint and assigning a bend to each segment to create intermediate states between the shapes in a mesmerizing manner. This algorithm is later applied to texts, making each glyph in a word/sentence constantly shifting into its neighboring glyph, while collectively maintaining their readability. A prototype outcome of Glyphshift is used as my contribution in the GAFA 70th Anniversary Poster Invitation Exhibition. ![]() Glyphshift is programmed using Processing, and is formally debuted at the group exhibition Paratext curated by Clara Che Wei Peh at Ames Yavuz in Singapore. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
