Time Left Shift 7

time<<7 is a generative installation commissioned by Peak Performance & UCCA Lab for the pop-up event “Moments in Åre” at Réel department store in Shanghai. It derives from time++ originally created in 2019, but is integrated with a few customized variations plus branding elements.

Similar to the mechanics of time++, second particles constantly leap onto the wall display, but this time, collectively show the Swedish time (UTC+1) instead. All particles also adopt a specific Peak Performance color palette that splits vertically into two rows and alternates every minute.

The installation is programmed using Processing. All sound effects are designed by 3ASiC. The pop-up scenography is created by spatial and scenic designer Shen Ruofan.
