ECD2

Inspired by a friend / fellow artist Han Bo (韩博)’s works, in which the ancient Greek mosaic art style and technique are heavily borrowed, I created generative system ECD2, reusing the recursive geometric subdivision technique in my past works, but also tracing each segment outline by laying laps of “tesserae”.

Distinct animated displacement of every lap was later integrated into the structure, leading to the visual experience of an abstract city map with a maze of traffic flow.
